What to Expect on Bass Ribbon Pines Radio [Event Preview]

Bass Ribbon Radio will be hosted from the Perfect Harmony Skoolie exclusively for Bass Ribbon Pines attendees with the headphone add-on! The addition of wireless headphones to a festival ticket will allow festival goers to tune into exclusive interviews, gain industry insight, listen to guest mixes, and attend an overdose prevention training from anywhere in the park!

To participate in the training and the other audio experiences, individuals will need to have a ticket to attend Bass Ribbon Pines and have purchased the headphone add-on to tune in.

Tickets to the festival and information on headphones can be found here!

Listeners and non-listeners alike will witness the Skoolie turn into a mobile museum as Ranebo Warrior and Zach Julen both take on its rigged body to create unique murals. RaneBo Warrior’s mural is anticipated to capture the clouds with their vivid style. A piece by Zach Julen, of surreal imagery with cartoon-like colors and elements, will adorn another area of the school bus.

The art doesn’t stop there. Glitch Artist, Andre Schü, will also take on the festival landscape to display his projection art from the roof of the bus. Andre combines the exploratory mind of an entrepreneur, the creative passion of an artist, and adds in a dash of the cyber-occult.

The skoolie will also feature an interactive art installation to honor lives lost. Event attendees are invited to come by the skoolie and decorate a CD in honor of their loved ones. The CDs will be hung to reflect the light those people brought into our lives and allow space for us to reflect as well. Attendees are invited to bring their own CD decorations or pre-decorated CDs for the installation.

Additionally, our team is still in search of scratched CDs, permanent and regular markers, paper, scissors, fishing wire, glue sticks, and twine. Please, drop off donations at the skoolie on Thursday or Friday!

This is Perfect Harmony is teaming up with the Steve Rummler Hope Network and Beyond Dope Productions to bring overdose-prevention awareness to the festival. Addiction and overdoses are no strangers to the EDM community. It can seem daunting to go through on your own. When we’re partying, we think we’re invincible. But that’s not always the case.

Steve Rummler Hope Network (SRHN) will host a Naloxone (NARCAN) training at the Perfect Harmony Skoolie on Friday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. NARCAN is a medication, administered through the nasal passage, that can reverse opioid/overdose.

For over a decade, the organization has been fighting to raise opioid addiction awareness and educate people on the impact of overdose and addiction. The training will include a brief history of the opioid crisis and SRHN, basic naloxone pharmacology, how to recognize opioid overdose symptoms and more. Most importantly, the training will teach attendees how to administer NARCAN when someone you may know, or don’t know, is overdosing on narcotics.

Beyond Dope Productions is a national organization that seeks to create safer electronic shows and foster a sense of community “through normalizing conversation around the shared hardships alongside events that foster joy.” The organization has assured that everyone who attends the training will receive a free nasal spray bottle of NARCAN and the know-how to save someone’s life due to their generous donation of kits.

Attendees can tune in to the training from across the grounds via wireless headphones but are asked to physically attend the training at the skoolie to receive NARCAN to take with them.

Staff from SRHN will be available after the training to converse, hold space, and answer any additional questions.

There will be a plethora of radio content in addition to the overdose prevention training too!

Listeners will also get industry insight from folks at Antic Studios and Champion Sound. Legacy Glass and more of your favorite vendors at Bass Ribbon Pines will also be choppin’ it up on the radio waves with the Perfect Harmony team.

Low & High will get your day going with Morning Meetings on Friday and Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

I have Freddy Gallardo joining me for a morning rip on what it means to be a talent buyer in the Minneapolis community,” said Jake of Low & High. The pair will discuss how to properly communicate about getting booked and the do’s and don’ts of getting involved in your local scene.

Guest mixes will include performances by Robbie T, Fluke, a Low & High Roster Takeover and a surprise guest artist!

Another confirmed segment will be a “Mainstage Mentality” takeover, focused on interviews with festival media about their work, wild behind-the-scenes stories, and what it’s like viewing the music community through each of their individual lenses. The segment will be hosted by none other than Megan Mann of Low & High.

Low & High founder and radio host, Hunter Breault, is on the schedule to facilitate two segments.

One of my segments dives into what it’s like to be a booking agent in the bass industry, and the other one focuses on what it’s like to be married in the bass world,” shared Hunter.

Tried and true to the venue’s disc golf course roots, everyone will also hear from the tournament director, Scott McClure, on the Wubs and Dubs Tournament and the putting tournament. “Scott McClure is the man. Enough said,” said Hunter.

Perfect Harmony will also sit down with the Blue Ribbon Pines grounds owner, Ray Jordan, for an in-depth look at the history of the course and the role they play in the disc golf community.

Do you want to be a part of the conversation? Submit a question for our hosts to ask!

And, as a final reminder, to participate in the training and the other audio experiences, individuals will need to have a ticket to attend Bass Ribbon Pines and have purchased the headphone add-on to tune in.
