Listeners will gain insight into the situation from Don Carpenter a photographer and journalist, Dan Barker of Rolled Up, Evan of Sturg and Friends, and Neon Dion. 

The intention of this episode is not to place the host or guests as experts on the ins and outs of each accusation made against Nahko. This episode hopes to add perspective to the conversations surrounding Pyro’s Eclipse Festival.

It was believed that all future Pyro Festivals were canceled at the time of this recording. The event founder, Joe, has since decided to go through with the event at a new location.

This episode contains themes of gender-based violence and victim blaming. The show is hosted by an individual, a publication, and a station that believes survivors. The views of those interviewed do not reflect the views of This is a Radio Show or its station host.

The episode has two misspeaks that Paul wanted to clear up for our listeners. The Varsity Theatre took groovy to a whole other level as the mysterious and funky band, Here Comes The Mummies, took the stage Sunday night. These enigmatic musicians, shrouded in bandages and hidden identities, are known for their electrifying blend of funk, rock, and soul. The evening featured the ever-so-talented Perpetual Groove. October 3 – The Brook & The Bluff

An absolute epic collision of hip-hop takes over Target Center on October 7. Minneapolis is in for a night of unparalleled as two trailblazers, Nas and Wu-Tang Clan grace the stage. With their vast catalog of timeless classics, this concert promises to be a monumental event that hip-hop aficionados won’t want to miss. This tour stop will undoubtedly go down in rap history.

October 8 – Low & High presents OVERLOWD 005

The Sunday scaries got a whole lot less scary thanks to Low & High. Located on the LynLake Brewery rooftop, OVERLOWD 005 features Rez, MixedMind, Jen Symmetry, and Pathfynder. A marvelous evening with sunset views, community, and sound system culture. This is a free event. However, this lineup is straight gas and sold out when opened to the community to sign up for tickets. 

October 12 – Bahamas

A harmonious night awaits as the Bahamas and Fortunate Ones bless First Avenue. With the smooth melodies of the Bahamas and the captivating tunes of Fortunate Ones, it’ll be a concert of delightful journey through folk and indie sounds. Don’t miss out on these talented acts that will create a memorable and melodic experience for all in attendance.

October 14 – Easybaked

The Pourhouse is set to host an electrifying night of music featuring a dynamic lineup of artists. Easybaked, known for their genre-blurring sound, will take the stage alongside Tiedye Ky, whose music weaves intricate melodies with infectious beats. Vide will bring their unique sonic sound waves to the mix, creating an immersive experience for the audience. And don’t miss Buxaplenty, a fan fav for the local underground scene.

October 14 – Fleetmac Wood

On the same evening a couple blocks away, Fine Line is entertaining an event featuring Fleetmac Wood. This renowned cover band is known for their captivating remixes of Fleetwood Mac’s classics. Old soul music lovers can anticipate a night of unique music, where classic rock melodies merge seamlessly with contemporary beats. October 14 – Zhu

And for another banger of a show on the same evening, you can catch Zhu at The Armory! With Noizu opening the show, the audience can expect a thrilling blend of electronic beats and immersive visuals. October 20 – Mechanix

Powered by Champion Sound, this takeover will have the city of Minneapolis bumpin’ on a Friday night! This local underground community is a monthly dance party featuring drum and bass, jungle, and bass music. In the October edition you can catch This Is Perfect Harmony favorite Pathfynder, as well as Blazz, Frog Milk, and Nato!

October 27 & 28 – Ganja White Night

Wobbleween is back for the spookiest weekend of the year. Check out The Armory for a stacked two-night lineup of absolute mayhem. With some legendary OG electronic dons to new school icons, the dance floor will be bumping with top of the line sound and met with mesmerizing visuals.

October 27 – Skalloween

Skalloween is set to bring a night of ska-filled excitement to Turf Club. With a stellar lineup featuring the grooves of Space Monkey Mafia, the lively tunes of The Prizefighters, the soulful rhythms of The Bishops, the high-energy performance of Runaway Ricochet, and the skankin’ sounds of The Skalectric Company. Plus this venue deserves all the recognition it so righteously deserves. (Pro-tips about Turf Club: their kitchen is excellent and you’ll never have to wait in line for the bathroom!)

October 28 – Neil Frances

Later on this month, Neil Frances will grace the stage at Fine Line. This dynamic duo is known for their smooth blend of electronic and indie pop. Music enthusiasts can anticipate a performance filled with groovy rhythms and catchy melodies that will keep the crowd dancing all night long. 

October 29 – Dope Lemon

Every vinyl collector has a record or two from this dreamy soulful performer. Dope Lemon takes the stage at First Avenue on October 29. October 30 – Emo Orchestra featuring Hawthorne Heights

September 8 – Ween

An evening with infectious anthems and brews? It doesn’t get much better than that. The legendary rock band, Ween, will be taking over Surly Brewing Co. on the second Friday of the month of September. With psychedelic rhythms to witty lyrics, an evening with Ween will leave the atmosphere quite electric.

September 9 – Mae Simpson

Get ready for a night out on the town with powerhouse vocals and depth ranging from funk, to rock, to folk. Mae Simpson and her band will be performing the debut of their latest release, “Chandlier & Bloom,” at their home-based Twin Cities’ venue, Fine Line. The evening will also receive support from artists alike, Nur-d and The Get Together.

September 9 – Jai Wolf

We can’t be the only ones excited to check out the newly renovated Uptown Theatre and this will be the perfect show to make it happen. Jai Wolf and his support from EVAN GIIA, and MYRNE are ready to take Minneapolis by a storm, leaving us dancing the night away to some future bass and indie-focused melodies.

September 9 – Gentleman’s Club

Listen folks, hearing Gentleman’s Club drop “Dum Dee Dum” (like it was 2014 all over again) at main stage during Infrasound had me waiting for more before their set was even over. The dance floor is all set to go off absolutely bloody bonkers as this evening at The Pourhouse will also host American Grime, Moonsplatta, and Koster.

September 11 – Janelle Monae

Join The Armory for a night of transcending inspiration as soulful Janelle Monae takes the stage. This Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter has made waves in music using hip-hop, funk, soul to create theatrical artistic entertainment. She is iconic; she is legendary; and she deserves all the standing ovations the Twin Cities can give her.

September 13 – Moon Hooch

Highlight it! Star it! Put it down on the calendar! Moon Hooch is about to have the Turf Club basking in a horn infused trance. The trios unconventional style has taken them from tunnel platforms in NYC to classic venues across the country. If you’re a real one, you could have also caught Moon Hootch last night on our very own “This Is A Radio Show.” The chat was lit! (And so it will be on the dance floor!)

September 15 – Ashnikko

This upcoming performance at The Fillmore promises to bring the heat. Known for her bold style, energy, and attitude, Ashnikko is sure to deliver an unforgettable show at The Fillmore. Get ready to dance and sing along to her chart-topping tracks in an exhilarating live experience!

September 20 – The Disco Biscuits

This mid-week hump day just took it up several notches as The Disco Biscuits make their way into town. First Avenue gets ready to take on notably everyone’s favorite jam band. If you’re looking to enjoy an evening with playful reels and experimental sound, The Disco Biscuits are it.

September 21 – Infrasound Equinox

The Fall Equinox will have our local bass scene returning home to Harmony Park on the third weekend of the month. This year’s lineup consists of an array of talented focusing in on IDM, drum and bass, and experimental. The ten year anniversary of Infrasound Equinox will have fan faves consisting of but not limited to: Caspa, Ternion Sound, Sicaria, Monty, Kursa, and Truth.

September 23 – Explosions In the Sky

Get ready to trade your Saturday night plans for an epic audio adventure as Explosions In The Sky rocks out the legendary First Avenue in Minneapolis on September 23. You sure can bet this instrumental rock band will turn this city into a sonic supernova.

September 23 – Valis Alps

Just next door at 7th St Entry, this indie-electronic duo will transcend their dreamy soundscapes. Valis Alps released a new album last month titled “Cleave” but you probably know them best by their remix to “Hallucinogenics.” If you’re unfamiliar and you’re into synths, melodic downtempo, and powerful vocals, this concert is for you.

September 23 – Gus Dapperton

And down the block at Fine Line, Gus Dapperton aims to deliver his signature style. Their sound blends between indie pop and alternative with heartfelt catchy lyrics. Could be a cute date night out with a special someone.

September 24 – Bishop Briggs and MisterWives

Wow! This is Perfect Harmony loves to see an all female curated event (and you should too!) Cap off your weekend on a Sunday night at First Avenue with The Don’t Look Down Tour featuring special guest, Rafaella. Truly can’t get much more blissful than an evening spent with female singer-songwriters.

September 24 – The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie

Two names you probably haven’t heard in awhile but your younger self would absolutely die to be in your shoes at this tour stop. The Armory hosts The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie for an evening spent in blissed out nostalgia. Dust off the Osiris shoes babe; time to get moody and cry this one out.

September 29 – Barry Can’t Swim

If you haven’t been to a Dance Agenda party this summer, well you’re missing out. This local house team is notorious for bringing an act before they blow up and Barry Can’t Swim will be yet another. Grab the besties, a bubble gun, and your party pants! Show up early and take it to The Hideout dance floor with local support from abel. and JOE WEM.

September 30 – moe.

Last but certainly not least, give it up for the improvisational astounding jam band. moe. delivers quite the set list of exploration and experimentation of extended jam sessions during their live performances. If you’re in need of a night out consisting of live music, check out First Avenue on September 30 as this one is your best bet.
