Time to get Funky, Chicago.

I’ve finally found an inner peace about Griz skipping Chicago on his recent tour. We’ve got something just as exciting coming our way.  Silver Wrapper, React Presents and Jam Productions, Ltd are collaborating to bring Chicago the sickest one night show of start off spring. Manic Focus along with Sunsquabi, CloZee, SoDown and LWKY are hitting Riviera Theatre on Saturday, March 10.

Upon first glance at the line-up, I was sure this was a phase one announcement or a mini fest. This many names in one place is really hard to believe. Tickets don’t go on sale until December 9. This means, if you’re not from the area, you have plenty of time to plan your weekend Chicago trip. Tickets are $23 advance and $25 at the door. There will be no lack of funk or bass at this show.

Each artist is either funky, heavy bass or a combination of both.  Manic Focus and Sunquabi always bring the funk. As for Clozee, she describes her sound best as world bass. Offering the best of both worlds with shake of bass and spoonful of funk  is SoDown and LWKY. 

The midwest is a hidden gem for finding great musical acts and shows. This is a hometown show for both Manic Focus and LWKY. Clozee is from Toulouse, France. Sunsquabi and SoDown both hail from Boulder, Colorado. But, these musicians are no stranger to the midwest music scene. In an interview following Summerset Camping and Music Festival, SoDown born Ehren Wright, noted about the friendliness that keeps bringing him back to this region.

“The midwest is such a special place. Everyone is so inviting and nice. I’m happy to visit every time” said, Wright.
