The Floozies at First Ave & 7th Entry

"Funk Jesus" tour hits Minneapolis.

The Floozies at First Ave & 7th Entry

The Floozies Duo threw one hell of a party at First Avenue on September 30. The group performed all their previous hits alongside a handful of new tracks with the release of their latest album, “Funk Jesus,” which came out September 29.

The venue was packed with funk-lovers in snapback Grassroots hats and psychedelic taco-cat t-shirts. A Floozies show is always chill, always fun and always funk-tacular. The group puts out a unique vibe, with songs named “Love, Sex and Fancy Things” and “Stuntin’” they’re all about the funkier things in life.

The duo is Matt and Mark Hill, brothers based out of Lawrence, Kansas. With Matt on electronic production and guitar and Mark on the drums, the two produce a mix of rock, funk, and electro that you can feel going in your feet and out your head.

Boombox and Late Night Radio opened up for September 29 show, preparing the crowd for all the funk they’d be exposed to.

Okay, I’m gonna stop trying to make “funk” happen, it’s already happening.
