Photo Diary: Lot Life at Electric Forest 2019
The party never ends at Electric Forest. When the venue closes for the evening, foresters head over to the RV lot to hopefully catch a rare b2b, their favorite producer layin’ down a heartfelt set, or some fresh, local talent — on top of a bus. These renegade stages are built by, well, checkout our last interview with Panky Rang Productions, the bus with the most bass, and I’ll just cut to the chase.
The renegade stages tease lineups for months in advance, creating a buzz on social media, almost as big as the official line up. Tweets circulate between DJs, renegade teams and foresters leading up to and during the event, hinting at even bigger names making an appearance. As the renegade teams and DJs come together over the weekend, word of mouth travels rampant through the forest to those who chose to leave their phones in the car or dropped it on day one (Come on, J.J.).
Artists on the Electric Forest 2019 line up such as Minnesota, Rusko, Ganja White Night, Digital Ethos, Defunk, Jatsen, Subtronics, SNBRN, LoadStar, Whooli, Thriftworks, Chee and Riot Ten wandered out to the lots to perform. Some announced, others a surprise.
Buku made his first Electric Forest appearance in 2018. He closed Jubilee on Sunday night with an intense trap set and then wandered over to the lots for a dark techno set. This year, though not featured on the Electric Forest lineup, Buku made several appearances in the lot, including a b2b set with Minnesota on the GoodBus. Golf Clap, who was not featured directly on the 2019 lineup but, made the rounds at Good Life and loyalty parties, also made a renegade appearance.
Other notable names in the lots included Meso, Treepeoh, Super Future, AceMyth and Birthdayy Partyy.
Much time was spent chasing a light up lamp shade totem and just gettin’ down to the dub. Here’s a collection of photos from the lot life at Electric Forest 2019:
**UPDATE 7/19**
Both J.J.’s lost phone and wallet have been returned due to Electric Forest’s tireless Lost and Found program. He say’s, “I got my phone back and my wallet minus the cash, haha. Best festival experience yet, regardless!”
