Line Up Announcement: Shangri-La Music Festival’s 20th Anniversary
Shangri-La Music Festival 2018 is gearing up to be an extra special gathering. The festival is located in Geneva, MN and is hosted by the Midwest’s, favorite underground band: Wookiefoot. The multi-genre band brings people together every September to dance under the Oak Trees of Harmony Park Music Garden and celebrate life while simultaneously raising funds for third world country relief efforts.
In celebration of the festivals 20th anniversary, Wookiefoot has decided to shake things up. Organizers announced that the event will be moved forward to the weekend of August 30 to September 2, for four days of music rather than three.
They quietly released the line up on their website with out much social media buzz. It includes house favorite as well as some new additions. Artists such as Wookiefoot, Useful Jenkins, John Wayne and The Pain, Dustin Thomas, Tubby Love and Amber Lily, Satsang, Cosmic Serenity, Mike Love and Paula Fuga will be gracing the stages.
Returning for his second consecutive year with a new twist, is The Polish Ambassador and The Diplomatic Scandal. The Polish Ambassador, born David Sugalsk, regularly tours as a solo performing DJ and electronic musician. The recent addition of The Diplomatic Scandal in late 2017 brings a full funk band to the stage and adds a new level of depth to his already unique sound.
New names such as electronic blues group, Dirtwire, will be in attendance as well. Yaima’s unique vocals will join the stage as well as Iya Terra and Arrested Development. The one man show of El Dub will also be there to create the illusion of a whole band. Although, he won’t be creating the illusion all weekend, El Dub was lead singer of Sioux Falls band, The Lunar Funk Theory. They are coming out of their 2012 hiatus and will be performing for the jam packed weekend.
More artists announcements are to come.
