2020 was undoubtedly the worst year in modern history. With the world crumbling beneath our feet and sky ablaze, somehow here we are still, united AF. Astounding how through the trials and tribulations, our community grew strong. With live streams, merchandise, collaborations, new friends and so much new music. So many new favorite artists we’ve discovered along the way with each other’s help. But this one source of inspiration especially kept us looking forward through it all.
Electric Hawk blesses us with its third compilation album In Unity. Fourteen tracks, 14 different experiences, 18 artists, one tribe. We’ve all witnessed the power of music and art and how it brings us closer with every experience—with every share. An experience shared is an experience squared; there’s honestly nothing in the world like vibing with people on the same wavelength.
Electric Hawk ensures that the movement perpetuates unity for the culture. In Unity is a reminder of how we can triumph over our toughest obstacles. Feelings of solitude, struggle, melancholy, seem to wash away for three minutes or so. We immerse ourselves in the moment and lose ourselves to the sounds of our peers. ENiGMA DUBZ, Capshun, MYTHM, Notlo and FRQ NCY, are just some of the honorable mentions included in the project. This gift is for everybody who has found solace in the music—an escape through sounds. Sounds that bring us together. Whether you enjoy house music or drum and bass or experimental distorted bass music—In Unity makes everyone feel at home.
If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s the fact that music has kept us somewhat sane through the nonsense. Even though we are all so far away from each other, we find a way to connect through music. Music is medicine, and Electric Hawk has been prescribing pure magic to keep us united.
