New MORiLLO album, “Shades Of Green,” leaves listeners mesmerized [Overview]
MORiLLO debuts his sophomore album, “Shades Of Green,” with Gravitas Records, making it their first release of 2021! Not ONLY did the man level up and learn new engineering skills during his quarantine, but MORiLLO incorporated his live drumming skills into his latest production–giving the project a more organic experience. “The result was a fresh diverging from strictly electronic sounds empowering a more human aspect to his music” states MORiLLO.
“Shades of Green” is eight tracks of tantalizing soundscapes, each with its own purpose. Grab your subwoofers ladies and gentlemen, for the entire, uncut, full-bodied experience.
Introducing the album, “Badmon” enters with a deep bassy tune accented by what sounds like a west coast synth straight out of a Dr. Dre hit. Evan Hatfield then comes in with his sitar and worldly ambiance for “Secrets” with a powerful spoken-word piece of poetry by Meg Gardner to end the song. When the collaboration with Canadian producer, PRZM, starts, starts, you might just recognize a powerful and familiar sample used in the vocals. With it’s reggae vibe, “Champion Sound,” is surely to get some hips a shakin’!
Suddenly, the voice of an angel echoes, Talia Benson, sings on “Dreamland” giving the song an ethereal feel. That’s only half of the project, Three more MORiLLO originals and one more collaboration with Los Angeles producer DanniG, “Shades of Green” is a beautiful blend of worldly sounds with that organic feel with a dash of UMPH.
Get lost in “Shades of Green.”
