Snowta NYE
Snowta NYE is what we've been waiting for.

There are two seasons for EDM lovers in Minnesota: festival season and winter show season. The brutally cold winters leave the residents with nothing to look forward to besides the stacked schedules of local venues. Here to offer the best of both worlds is Snowta NYE Festival. It’s a two-day festival taking place in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the Minneapolis Convention Center on December 30-31. This year the line-up includes: Excision, Pretty Lights Live, Gucci Mane, Post Malone, Ganja White Night, Bear Grillz, Joyride, Liquid Stranger, Mija, Prof, Ookay Live, WOOKIEFOOT, Ott, Sunsquabi, Yheti, Jon Wayne and the Payne, Spock, Golf Clap and SoDown.

If that line up wasn’t enough to make you throw every penny of your last paycheck away wait till you hear this; Snowta will also feature Human Bowling, a skate park, Snowboard Rail Jam, an arcade, and Alien Laser Tag. Early bird tickets are $160 and they offer a layaway program.
Snowta NYE premiered last year at the same location, but it was only a one-day event and there wasn’t Human Bowling.
Big Gigantic popped the midnight champagne and as confetti exploded into the air, everyone kissed their lovers, friends and strangers to bring in the new year. The 2016 lineup also included Infected Mushroom, Tipper, Prof, Waka Flocka Flame and more.
PK Sound, the same team that put on Excision’s Lost Lands Music Festival, is bringing its production to Snowta, with over 150k watts of bass and Excision’s one-of-a-kind video wall for the entire festival. The gigantic LED screens create one enormous visual throughout the entire set. If you haven’t seen the Paradox yet, be prepared to embrace the bass and headbang so hard you’ll need a neck brace. Oh, and Pretty Lights is letting Snowta use his massive lighting rig too.
To add to the madness, Pretty Lights is playing in Minnesota for the first time in four years. Not only is he making his grand reappearance on December 31, he’s doing it live.
Pretty Lights is the product of Derek Vincent Smith’s musical talents and Pretty Lights Live was born in 2016. This live band version of Pretty Lights’ set featured Smith; Drummer, Alvin Ford Jr.; keyboardist – Brian Coogan; keyboardist – Borahm Lee; and turntablist – Chris Karns.
Pretty Lights Live will ring in the New Year under a dome of technicolor lights.
And incase you’re not up to par on the Minnesota Music scene, get yourself familiar with these names, they’ll be performing at one of three stages during Snowta’s two-day NYE party — Prof, Wookiefoot, John Wayne and the Payne, UJU, Apparition, Conduit, Cram, Dwynel Roland, Foxy Dope, FreeWifi, Gaines FM, Johnny Foreplay, Loom In Essene, Mac Irv, Martians Crew, Meinong’s Jungle, Nazeem & Spencer Joles, StereoGO, tiiiiiiiiiip and Shrimpnose.
Way to go Snowta, it wouldn’t live up to it’s name if it didn’t rep the local music scene. We won’t make your mouth water any longer. Here’s where you can get tickets.
