Show Preview: No Boys in the Booth

Alison Wonderland, Mija, Rezz, Whipped Cream —  These badass female DJ’s throw down harder than a lot of DJ’s I’ve heard. You don’t see an all female DJ lineup very often at clubs and venues. Get a few girls together, and we can run the world — Beyoncé said so.  One Minneapolis promoter and DJ decided to take matters into her own hands and created an all female DJ night. No Boys in The Booth will take place at The Rev Ultra Lounge in Minneapolis. The event begins at 10 p.m. and tickets are $15 plus fees.

House DJ, J. Worra, will headline the event with support from SLiPPERS and NBITB founder, TeeSo.

When the Minneapolis based DJ saw Sandra Collins perform with Kristina Sky B2B on Groove Cruise 2017, she thought to herself, “Why don’t I see this more?”

If you want something done, do it yourself — and Tee did. No Boys in the Booth came to life in April of 2017 on the third floor of the Lumbar Exchange Building in Downtown Minneapolis. She brought back the killer B2B set she saw just months prior and Sandra Collins and Kristina Sky headlined the inaugural NBITB event. With the help of her best friends, she coordinated a female DJ night

“It’s so rewarding to see the NBITB culture grow and be a success. The culture is fun, positive and safe especially for women and other minorities,” Tee said.  “I never dreamed in a million years it would be as popular as it is. I just decided to throw one big birthday party and invite all the best people in my life.”

Past headliners have also included Eli & Fur, Sam Divine and J. Phlip.

“My plan is to say true to brand and make sure everyone at my events dances, smiles and laughs,” Tee said. “If we stick together, keep growing, and take care of each other, the sky’s the limit!”
