Pyro’s Ecplipse Music and Arts Festival announced Nahko as their headliner without disclosing the booking to other line-up artists.

This edition of This is a Radio Show features interviews and statements of the folks who pulled out of Pyro Eclipse upon hearing the announcement. Listeners will gain insight into the situation from Don Carpenter a photographer and journalist, Dan Barker of Rolled Up, Evan of Sturg and Friends, and Neon Dion.

The intention of this episode is not to place the host or guests as experts on the ins and outs of each accusation made against Nahko. This episode hopes to add perspective to the conversations surrounding Pyro’s Eclipse Festival.

It was believed that all future Pyro Festivals were canceled at the time of this recording. The event founder, Joe, has since decided to go through with the event at a new location.

Originating in Jamacia in the 1940s and 50s, folks would build speaker systems to bring music to the streets. The phenomenon then took over the UK and the United States making a significant impact on electronic music and hip-hop. Today, folks like Head Inna Bin keep the traditions alive with their passion for sound and the underground.

On January 17, we heard from Paul, Jonas, and Nate of Head Inna Bin. The trio talked about the good, the bad, the funny, and what “sound system culture” means to them.

The episode has two misspeaks that Paul wanted to clear up for our listeners. First, they have had Prophet on the full sound, but it was before the system had 6 subs and a new horn-loaded top section. What Paul really wants is a re-do with Prophet on the full stack! Second, the correct amount of total power is 8,000 watts!

On this episode of This is a Radio Show, we welcomed Minneapolis native, Shrimpnose and his buddies, student1 and WNDRLND. The LA musician released his full-length album “As It Seems” in late October and has spent the last month and a half touring it across the country.

His roster of collaborations includes names such as Bleep Bloop, Holly, Daedelus, Bobby Raps, Little Snake, and more. He has also played major Minnesota festivals such as Snowta, Infrasound, and (RIP) Summerset.

Now, in the second half of the tour stretch, we patiently await the Minneapolis show at 7th Street Entry with Blood $moke Body, Phib b2b Wndrlnd, student1, and Taliaknight on December 28.

She has performed at recognizable Minneapolis venues such as The Hook n’ Ladder, Dayblock Brewing, The Fine Line and 56 Brewing. And events such as Galactic Get-Down, People Fest, and Revival. Recently she performed at at Ha Ha Hoedown in Broadhead, WI, and The Harmony Park Family Reunion over Memorial Day Weekend. Oliva Quintanilla is now adding Qlivia, her independent musical project.
